Build Confidence, Independence, and Everyday Skills

At 40:31 Rehab & Wellness, our Pediatric Occupational Therapy (OT) program helps children develop the foundational skills they need to participate successfully in everyday life. From learning to play and write to managing emotions and self-care, occupational therapy supports growth across all areas of development — physical, emotional, social, and cognitive.

We believe every child has the potential to thrive when given the right support. Our compassionate therapists work with children and their families to make therapy both effective and enjoyable. Through purposeful, play-based activities, we help children overcome challenges and gain the confidence to do things that matter most — at home, in school, and in the community.

Our Approach

We take a child-centered and family-focused approach to therapy. Each session is customized to meet your child’s unique needs, strengths, and interests.

Our therapists use a combination of sensory integration, motor skill development, and emotional regulation strategies through play (DIR/Floortime) to help children build meaningful skills that improve their daily lives. Therapy is engaging, fun, and designed to encourage progress in a positive environment.

We also collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, and teachers to ensure consistency across all settings — because growth happens best when everyone is working together toward the same goals.

Common Goals

Our pediatric occupational therapy services address a wide range of developmental needs. Depending on your child’s age and goals, therapy may focus on:

  • Fine Motor Skills: Strengthening hand and finger coordination for writing, buttoning, cutting, and self-care tasks.
  • Gross Motor Skills: Improving balance, strength, and body awareness for better movement and play.
  • Sensory Processing: Helping children respond appropriately to sensory input (sound, touch, movement, etc.) and manage overstimulation.
  • Self-Regulation: Teaching children to manage frustration, emotions, and transitions more effectively.
  • Daily Living Skills: Building independence in dressing, feeding, grooming, and toileting.
  • Visual-Motor Integration: Enhancing eye-hand coordination for reading, writing, and sports.
  • Social & Play Skills: Encouraging interaction, sharing, and cooperative play with peers.

Each therapy plan begins with an in-depth evaluation to identify your child’s strengths, challenges, and goals. From there, we create a personalized plan that grows and adapts alongside your child’s development.

Expected Outcomes

Our goal is always to see children thrive — not only in therapy, but in their daily lives. Families often notice improvements that extend far beyond the therapy room.

Children who participate in OT often experience:

  • Greater independence in dressing, feeding, and hygiene routines
  • Improved coordination, posture, and handwriting
  • Better emotional regulation and self-control
  • Increased focus and attention at home and school
  • Stronger social skills and participation in group activities
  • Reduced frustration and enhanced confidence in trying new tasks

Through consistent support and collaboration, children learn not just how to do more — but also believe they can.
